Posh Poll: The Results Post

On Monday, we asked our readers, “Do you splurge on high-end, designer items for your child?” Well, the results are in:

  • 3% of our readers said, “Of course. I want my child to enjoy the finer things in life.”
  • 34% of you said: “No Way! Put that money in a college fund!”
  • A whopping 63% said, Hmm..Depends on what the item is.

The Posh Mumsies are going to have to agree with the masses on this one–we will splurge, BUT, it depends on what the item is. Sorry, we wont be buying PRADA Mary Janes for our babies, but we won’t be going Dumpster Diving for Onesies either. Items we will splurge on: investment pieces such as convertible cribs, strollers, car seats, etc. The longevity of these items are key when making purchases because our children will have them for the long haul–clothes and shoes…not so much. Babies grow way too fast to spend $200 on shoes they will be in for two months, maximum. #NoMa’am. But please understand, by no means do you have to sacrifice style.

We did a little research to compare some similar items that may save you some money:

Splurge vs. Steal

Splurge: Vans from J Crew

Steal: Target “Vans”

    • You are so right about that! Its all about how you dress it up! I know I’ve personally bought a few baby clothing items from wal-mart and found the same ones at higher end stores for triple the price…. Same great look… Even better price.
